POLISH-GERMAN YOUTH PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA LOWER SILESIA
Polish-German Youth Philharmonic Orchestra is the most important initiative of the cooperation between young people from Poland and Germany in Lower-Silesia. Polish-German Youth Philharmonic promote talented young musicians from both of these countries. Every year festival cooperates with new cities and people. After taking part in festivals’ meetings, many of our young musicians were invited to take part in different courses, competitions, workshops and tours.
Year 2005 was one of the most important years in the history of Polish-German Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. On 10th of May that year Orchestra played at Pariserplatz in Berlin during the ceremony of expose the monument to Jews murdered in Europe. The Orchestra played then under direction of Dan Ettinger, Stanisław Rybarczyk with soloists from Berlin Staatskapelle. Accompaniment by Wroclaw Choir “The White Stork Synagogue” and by world-famous cantor from New York – Joseph Malowany.
Polish-German Youth Philharmonic Orchestra performed also in Hamburg and Berlin during Young Euro Classic festival.
The Orchestra is supported by many cultures institutions both from Poland and Germany.
The famous historian Norman Davies called Wrocław „a Microcosm of Central Europe”, „a Sum of experiences” of the nationality and cultures in this city coexisting.Polish-German Youth Philharmonic Orchestra is a visiting-card of the open city which is opened for international cooperation and the union of Europe in the name of the idea „the music does not know limits”.
